Tracie is an American author of Christian fiction. She writes many historical novels, with romantic threads in them, as well as writing with other Christian authors on joint novels. Many of her books are published by Bethany House. She originally used the pen name of Janelle Jamison. Peterson is married to Jim and has three children, Jennifer, Julie, and Erik; they live in Montana. Peterson owns Peterson Ink, Inc. along with her husband Jim, daughter Jennifer, and friend Charity Kauffman. Barbour Publishing uses Peterson Ink to handle the entire production of their Heartsong Presents book line. Heartsong Presents publishes 52 Christian romance books a year, with half of those being contemporary stories and half historical.

James is a former trial lawyer associated with one of L.A.'s top law firms and later working out of an independent office, he is now a full-time, award-winning suspense writer. He lives and writes in Los Angeles. He is an award-winning novelist and writing instructor. He is a winner of the International Thriller Writers Award and the author of the #1 best-selling book on writing, Plot & Structure: Techniques and Exercises for Crafting a Plot That Grips Readers from Start to Finish. He received his BA in Film Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied writing with Raymond Carver, and his JD with honors from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
